Created by Mattel in 1981, the Masters of the Universe toy line consisted of consisting action figures, accessories, vehicles, creatures and playsets. The popular animated series was used to introduce new toys into the series until the end of the line in 1988

In 1985, the She-Ra Princess of Power toy line hit the shelves with The female figures released and packaged as the Princess of Power toy line. Although The Evil Horde was introduced in the animated series, Mattel incorporated the male characters into Masters of the Universe toy line.

Debuting in 1989, the New Adventures of He-Man toy line was met with a lackluster response as Mattel tried to reinvigorate the series with a new cartoon that was short lived and ended in 1992.

The Masters of the Universe 200x Modern Series toy line sought to return to the origins. The figures were sculpted by the Four Horsemen, which created more unique figures across line. Although the line was popular with collectors, it was short lived from 2002 to 2004.

In 2000, Mattel released the Commemorative Series, a nostalgic re-lease of the most popular figures in the Masters of the Universe Original Series toy line. These figure were highly limited in production and featured the action figures we knew and loved from the 80’s and throwback packaging.

Taking He-Man back his roots, Mattel combines the nostalgia from the original series and modernizes and reimagines the toy line with stellar sculpts, amazing detail, and much needed articulation. Starting in 2008 with Mattel and ending in 2019 makes the Classics line the longest running sub series.

Pitting heroes against villains, these 2-packs feature articulation, accessories and a piece to complete and connect the Minis Castle Grayskull. Standing at a whopping 2″ tall, this toy line was from 2014 and features the characters you know and love.

Size matters in the MOTU Universe with MOTU Giants 12″ toy line. The figures are scaled up versions of the original toys and are almost exact replicas. The card art was also styled on the classic exploding rock image on the front. Images of selected MOTU figures were printed on the back, just as they were in the 1980s.
